Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for assisting the school bus driver with maintaining order, safeguarding students and supervising the loading and unloading of buses. Additional responsibilities include:
- Inform and maintain the safe and orderly conduct of student passengers on a school bus while in transit
- Comfortable with the possibility of assisting, and tending to, students with disabilities or special needs as defined in the student’s individualized education program (IEP)
- Comply with State, Federal, Agency, and NYS Education Department requirements
- Follow all safety rules, as well as transportation laws and regulations
- Ability to operate special equipment on the bus
- Assist school bus driver as needed, as well as other responsibilities as assigned
