The Glens Falls City School District is seeking interested applicants for a School Counselor at Glens Falls High School. Salary is per the GFTA contract.
School Counselors in Glens Falls work collaboratively to develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses students' academic, career, and social-emotional development. This role involves collaboration with educators, administrators, families, and community agencies to support student success and well-being.
Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic achievement, personal/social development, and career planning.
Design and deliver classroom guidance lessons aligned with New York State Learning Standards and the ASCA National Model.
Assist students in developing academic and career plans, including college readiness and vocational exploration.
Identify and address barriers to student learning through data analysis and intervention strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create supportive learning environments.
Respond to student crises and provide appropriate referrals to external resources when necessary.
Valid New York State certification as a School Counselor.
Demonstrated knowledge of the ASCA National Model and New York State Comprehensive Counseling Model.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
