Job Description

Glens Falls City School District has an opening for a UPK Teacher Aide at Kensington Elementary School. This is a full-time, 10-month position. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the UPK teacher with daily classroom activities and instruction 
• Support individual and small group learning activities 
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment 
• Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance 
• Prepare and organize educational materials and supplies 
• Supervise children during outdoor play, transitions and other activities 
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required 
• Communicate effectively with children, families and staff in a professional and supportive manner
• Follow all health and safety protocols 

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children (preferred) 
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff 
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
• Patient, energetic, and positive attitude toward children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Background check and fingerprint clearance
