Job Description

The Glens Falls City School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Principal for Glens Falls High School. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional leadership; expertise in curriculum, assessment, and data-driven decision-making; and a commitment to supporting the whole child through academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and attendance systems of support. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging school environment grounded in the district’s core values of Character, Excellence, and Community.

This ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Evidence of building and sustaining a positive culture that improves staff morale, engagement and organizational outcomes
• Operational knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
• Experience with or understanding of the NYS Portrait of a Graduate

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification

• Experience in teaching and/or administration at the secondary level

• Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with staff, students, families, and community partners
