Job Description

The Glens Falls City School District is seeking interested applicants for a vacant Music Teacher position for our District.  This is a part-time (10-month) position.  Expected grade levels for instruction include grades 4-6. Salary is per contract (Glens Falls Teachers Association). 

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate orchestra instruction for students across multiple grade levels
  • Teach proper technique for string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass)
  • Conduct rehearsals and prepare students for concerts and performances
  • Develop students' music reading skills, rhythm, and ensemble playing
  • Assess student progress and provide individualized feedback
  • Collaborate with other music teachers and school staff
  • Maintain and organize instruments and music materials
  • Communicate with parents about student progress
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field New York State Teaching Certification
  • Proficiency in string instruments and conducting
  • Experience working with elementary and middle school students
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods and curriculum standards
