Job Description

• The Glens Falls City School District is seeking a reliable and motivated Groundskeeper to perform routine and seasonal maintenance of school grounds and exterior facilities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, clean, and attractive outdoor environments for students, staff, and the community. This will be a 12 month position with typical hours of 6:30am-3:00pm Monday through Friday.
  Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, and landscaping
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as trucks, mowers, trimmers, blowers, and snow removal equipment
• Perform snow and ice removal from walkways, parking lots, entrances, and athletic areas
• Assist with athletic field preparation and seasonal setup
• Maintain exterior areas including sidewalks, curbs, fences, and playgrounds
• Perform minor repairs related to grounds and exterior facilities
• Assist custodial and maintenance staff as needed
• Follow all district safety procedures and OSHA regulations
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Shift may vary by season or as needed

Job Qualifications

 

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, parks maintenance, or related work preferred
• Ability to operate power equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends
