Speech-Language Pathologist

The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) focuses on preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and parents to support students' communication skills, ensuring they can fully access the academic curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally within the educational environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive screenings and evaluations of students suspected of having communication disorders using standardized tools and clinical observations.

IEP Development: Participate as an active member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE). Formulate measurable Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, objectives, and accommodations tailored to student needs.

Therapeutic Intervention: Provide high-quality, evidence-based speech and language therapy to individual students or small groups, both in standard pull-out sessions and integrated classroom settings.

Collaboration & Consultation: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, psychologists, and parents to implement strategies that generalize communication skills across all school environments.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records of student progress, therapy logs, evaluation reports, and attendance in compliance with state, federal, and district regulations.

Data-Driven Instruction: Continuously monitor student progress, collect data during sessions, and adjust therapeutic interventions and goals as necessary based on data analysis.

Cleaner - Hourly (continuous recruitment)

Job Description:

At Glens Falls City School District, our school cleaners play a vital role in shaping our reputation and community pride. We are currently accepting applications for a part-time (hourly) position to fill in for vacancies and staffing coverage as needed. A school cleaner's primary responsibility is to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for students and staff.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Cleaning: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting in classrooms, offices, locker rooms, restrooms, and gymnasiums

Spot cleaning: Addressing spills and other unexpected cleaning needs

Sanitizing: Cleaning bathrooms and other public areas

Reporting issues: Notifying the supervisor of any hazards or defects

Working with others: Collaborating with teachers and other staff to address custodial issues and set up for school events

Following procedures and promoting safety: Adhering to the school's cleaning schedule and safety requirements

 

$17.93/hour (Per CSEA contract)
Teaching Assistant - Continuous Recruitment

Teaching Assistants (Per Glens Falls Support Staff Association) (Teaching Assistant Level 1)

Glens Falls City School District has anticipated openings in the Teaching Assistant area. Responsibilities include working with individual students or groups of students on instructional activities and tasks, and related work as required. This is a 6.5-hour-per-day, 10-month position during the school year.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibility of the Teaching Assistant to provide a structured learning experience and atmosphere in the classrooms assigned. Teaching Assistants will be expected to cover in the teacher’s absence and provide structured learning experience. Specific duties include: assisting with activities, supervising the children, maintaining the classroom and other areas, assisting in developing good health standards and appropriate social habits, and filling in for other staff as needed. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and New York State Teacher Assistant Certification, required
