Building Aide

The Building Aide plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment throughout the school day. This position involves managing student supervision during non-instructional times (recess, cafeteria and hallways) and providing necessary classroom coverage to ensure continuity of instruction.  This is a 10 month position.  

Your typical day as a Teacher Aide may include: assisting with activities, supervising students, maintaining the classroom and other areas, assisting in developing good health standards and appropriate social habits, and filling in for other staff as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful manner.

Cleaner

At Glens Falls City School District, our school cleaners play a vital role in shaping our reputation and community pride. If you're punctual, reliable, and trustworthy, join the GF Nation team as a second shift Cleaner at the Middle School.  This is a full time, 12-month position working Monday-Friday, 3PM - 11:30PM. A school cleaner's primary responsibility is to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for students and staff.

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Cleaning: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting in classrooms, offices, locker rooms, restrooms, and gymnasiums
  • Spot cleaning: Addressing spills and other unexpected cleaning needs 
  • Sanitizing: Cleaning bathrooms and other public areas 
  • Maintaining supplies: Checking stock levels and replenishing supply closets
  • Reporting issues: Notifying the supervisor of any hazards or defects 
  • Working with others: Collaborating with teachers and other staff to address custodial issues and set up for school events
  • Following procedures and promoting safety: Adhering to the school's cleaning schedule and safety requirements 
  • Training: Participating in training sessions as needed
