504 Coordinator | | The 504 Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 within our school/district. This position involves collaboration with educators, parents, and community resources to create and maintain a supportive educational environment for students with disabilities. Key Responsibilities: -
Coordination of Services: Update and manage the identification and evaluation processes for students eligible for 504 services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. -
Individualized Accommodation Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor 504 Accommodation Plans in collaboration with teachers, staff, and parents. -
Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff regarding 504 laws, policies, and best practices. -
Communication: Act as a liaison between students, parents, educators, and community resources to ensure effective communication and support. -
Data Management: Maintain accurate records of 504 plans, evaluations, and progress monitoring. -
Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities within the educational setting. -
Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies related to Section 504. | Per Contract |

- Assist the Superintendent of Schools with those District level tasks and responsibilities assigned
Performance Responsibilities to Include, but Not Limited To: - Attends to all student infractions and resolves student discipline cases including Superintendent Hearings
- Holds conferences with students and parents as required to resolve assigned student discipline problems
- Works with counselors and the Student Support Team/SST to resolve student issues
- Facilitates and oversees RTI meetings and process
- Coordinate with outside service providers and community resources as needed, Law Enforcement, CPS, PINS, Family Court, Counseling Agencies, etc.
- Identify and implement programs that will proactively deal with student needs
- Assist the Principal in evaluation and supervision of Teaching and Non-teaching staff
- Assists the Principal in development of the master schedule
- Assists the Principal in budget preparation and in maintaining budget accounting for the building operation
- Schedules, plans, and conducts student assembly programs
- Assist the Principal and staff in maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Assist in all required emergency drills
- Assist the Principal with the NYS 5-8 School Test ordering, designing proctor schedule, supervise and securing NYS testing materials and exams
- Assist in reviewing and upgrading technology resources for students, faculty, and staff as needed
- Represents the Principal during his/her absence
- Assists the Principal in planning and supervision of after school and evening activities, including, but not limited to, detentions, sporting events, concerts, dances, plays, etc.
